COMMON QUESTIONS

What is IMMO5 and why does my Audi need it?▼
IMMO5 is the 5th generation immobilizer on MQB and MLB EVO platforms (2016+). It encrypts communication between key, BCM, and engine module. Replacing keys, BCM, or installing a used ECU all require IMMO5 reprogramming via ODIS — a dealer-level procedure most locksmiths can't do.
Can you program a used DSG mechatronic unit into my car?▼
Yes. We virginize the used unit, flash correct software, perform clutch adaptation, and calibrate shift points. All DQ generations covered — DQ200, DQ250, DQ381, DQ500. Mail-in or in-shop. Saves $2,000–4,000 vs a new unit from the dealer.
What's a B2000 fault and how do you fix it?▼
B2000 is the VW/Audi fault code for electronic steering column lock failure. Common on Passat B6/B7, CC, and Tiguan. Dealer quotes $1,500+ for full column replacement. We repair the ELV module for $200–$400 — permanent fix, mail-in available.
Which modules can I mail in vs need the car present?▼
ECU/TCM virginizing, DSG mechatronic, instrument cluster, and B2000 repair — all mail-in. Key programming (IMMO5/MQB), coding packages, and tunes need the car or remote access. Contact us and we'll tell you the best approach.
