COMMON QUESTIONS

What can be coded on my car?
It depends on the make, model, and year. Common coding options include digital dashboard activation, ambient lighting customization, folding mirror settings, comfort features (auto-lock, window behavior), DRL brightness, needle sweep, exhaust valve control, and much more. Send us your VIN and we'll tell you exactly what's available for your specific car.
Is vehicle coding safe? Will it damage my car?
Yes, it's completely safe when done with OEM tools by experienced technicians. We use the same factory diagnostic systems as the dealer — BMW ISTA, Porsche PIWIS III, Audi/VW ODIS, Mercedes Star Diagnosis. We only modify parameters within the manufacturer's intended range. We also take a full backup before any changes.
Will coding void my warranty?
Under the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, a dealer cannot void your warranty simply because coding was performed — they must prove the coding directly caused a failure. Since we use OEM tools and only activate features the manufacturer built into the car's software, the risk is minimal. All changes are also fully reversible before any dealer visit.
Can coding changes be reversed?
Yes, 100%. We take a complete backup of your car's current coding before making any changes. Every modification can be reversed to factory defaults at any time. If you're selling the car or going to the dealer for warranty work, we can restore everything to stock.
What's the difference between coding and tuning?
Coding activates or modifies existing factory features — things the manufacturer built into the software but didn't enable for your market or trim level. Tuning modifies engine parameters (fuel maps, boost, timing) to increase horsepower. We do coding only — we do not offer ECU performance tuning. Coding carries no risk to your engine or drivetrain.
How long does vehicle coding take?
Most coding sessions take 30–60 minutes depending on how many features you want coded. Simple single-feature jobs can be done in 15 minutes. Larger retrofit coding or transmission adaptation may take 1–2 hours. All same-day — no need to leave your car overnight.
